Piano Lessons

Matthew teaches piano and music theory from home in Cyncoed, Cardiff. He offers music tuition for piano and theory grades (from Grade 1 to Grade 8) through ARBSM and Trinity College London. He also offers tuition to those who want to learn for fun and personal achievement where examinations are not at the focus.

Since the Covid 19 pandemic, Matthew also offers online lessons through FaceTime/Zoom video calls.

Every pupil requires an individual teaching style appropriate to their goals. Matthew is just as comfortable teaching Mozart as he is current chart music. All styles such as blues, jazz, rock, classical and popular music can be taught confidently by Matthew.

Matthew teaches children from 7 years upwards and adults who are complete beginners or more advanced. 

​

GCSE and A-Level music tuition is also available as are all music theory examinations. Matthew is fully qualified to teach right up to and including grade 8 performance and theory. Since 2009, when Matthew began teaching, he has entered over 154 pupils for graded piano and theory exams and all have achieved a pass, merit or distinction.

While the technical aspects of playing piano are important, Matthew also believes that music is to be enjoyed and every pupils needs are different.
